Nelson Karanja
Director, Communications & Engagement
Nelson has over 20 years of experience as a high calibre communications executive with an extensive track record in strategy, corporate and internal communications and behaviour change communications in Eastern Africa.
He was previously the Communications Director at TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) since October 2017 and prior to that, was the Senior Communications Manager. In previous roles, Nelson has been the Communications Director for the Tanzania Marketing and Communications (T-MARC) Ltd in Tanzania and Media Director at Media Initiative East Africa.
Over the years, Nelson has directed and implemented successful corporate communication, public affairs and behaviour change communication strategies in Eastern and Southern Africa and other parts of the Horn of Africa. He has provided communications counsel to Chief Executive Officers and Board Members. Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, a diploma in Information Systems and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
