Stephen has more than 14 years’ of principle investing experience spanning asset management; venture capital, private equity and impact investing. He joined FSD Africa Investments in January 2020 and has principally been involved in the sourcing, execution and portfolio management all across the African continent.

Stephen has been involved in numerous private equity transactions on the continent with a cumulative deal value of over USD 500 million. He started out his private equity career with TBL Mirror Fund as an investment analyst and has worked with Catalyst Principal Partners and Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (KFW DEG). Prior to joining FSD Africa Investments, Stephen worked as Investment Manager at DEG out of East Africa with execution across the continent and was responsible for amongst others direct and intermediated equity transactions on the African continent.

Stephen sits on numerous Advisory committee positions as well as Board director positions including BlueOrchard Covid-19 Emerging and Frontier MSME Support Fund, Lendable MSME Fintech Credit Fund and ImFact, amongst others.

Stephen holds a joint master’s degree in business administration from Strathmore Business School & IESE Business School and a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science.
