Allison Wainaina
Manager, Learning and Development
Allison has 9 years’ experience in Human Resource – Learning and Development from the NGO and financial sector. In her role, she is responsible for building out and delivering a suitable learning and development strategy for the Network. The key goal of her role is to ensure FSD Network staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve the ambitious FSD2.0 strategy.
Allison previously worked with the Norwegian Refugee Council where she spearheaded the learning and development advisory services within the Eastern African and Yemen region. She supported learning in different demographics to imbed a culture of learning and capacity building for all staff within the region.
Prior to joining NRC, she worked at Medicines San Frontiers (MSF) as their Learning and development manager for their Kenya program. She actively played a critical role in the inception of this department to support over 700 staff in their different projects across the country. She provided learning expertise on key medical learning initiatives, recruitment of key medical staff, instituted a performance management system to improve performance and support development of staff amongst other key roles.
In her early career, she worked in the financial sector providing learning coordination services at Stanbic Bank which lay the foundation on the governing protocols and procedures in learning and development as a discipline.
Allison has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, a higher diploma in Human Resources, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is a certified CMA Coach.
