Brenda is an all-round HR professional with over 13 years’ experience in Human Resources Management in generalist and specialist roles. Her work experience spans across sectors and countries in the East and Central Africa region. She has worked in Banking, FMCG Telecommunications and International Development/Humanitarian sectors.
She joins us from World Food Programme (WFP) Somalia Country Office where she was Head of HR Operations and Deputy Head of HR. Brenda worked at WFP from 2019 and was instrumental in developing and implementing impactful Talent initiatives including an employee recognition programme, a mentorship programme, and a graduate trainee programme. She also led initiatives to simplify and automate HR services to enhance employee experience.
Brenda holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Administration from Strathmore University and a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management from the College of Human Resources Management, Kenya. She holds a PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate and is a certified Occupational Personality Assessor (SHL) and Job Evaluator (Hay Group). Brenda is a member of the professional Human Resources body in Kenya (Institute of Human Resources Management).
In her free time Brenda enjoys reading for leisure, personal development and taking nature walks.
