Janine Ampulire Mwesigye

Janine has 10 years’ experience providing leadership in results management, knowledge management & learning, action research, project management, and communications in development work, including 4+ years in a senior management position. With a zeal to influence change using evidence, Janine led efforts to position AFR as a knowledge hub through the development of a knowledge management and learning framework, setting up development impact measurement systems and driving action research to inform strategic decisions within Rwanda’s financial sector. She has also made contributions to many papers, including CAHF’s (Centre for Affordable Housing Finance) Annual Yearbook and coordinated Finscope surveys in Rwanda. Previous experiences include managing private sector development projects at CARE Rwanda and International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group). She has actively participated in the FSD Network MRM Working Group, chairing it during its inception phase in 2017 and most recently chairing the Impact Measurement and Management Technical Working Group.
Janine has been a fellow of two prestigious global leadership programs; the President’s Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship (YALI), and the Community Solutions Program (CSP). She holds a Masters in Economic Policy Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics (Statistics & Applied Economics) from Makerere University. She also holds Diplomas in Community Development and Leadership from George Mason University USA, and Sustainable Business Management from the Swedish Institute.
Janine lives in Kigali, Rwanda with her family and she enjoys travelling, watching movies, and meeting people from diverse cultures.
