Arjmand Banu Khan joins FSD Africa with over 2 decades of experience working in the international development sector, She has dedicated her professional career towards issues 01 advancing gender equality and promoting and protecting women’s and girls rights. She is passionate about social inclusion and the economic empowerment of women.
She has successfully initiated and led several national and regional initiatives that have helped to address poverty and improve the lives of vulnerable groups Banu has worked for several international NGOs as well as over a decade with Women where she led the women’s economic empowerment portfolio with a strong focus on enhancing women and youth led MSME access to sustainable markets and engagement with the private sector for gender equality.
Arjmand has carved a reputation in the development world as a go to facilitator, gender mainstreaming expert and apt workshop facilitator. She is also a published author. She has worked with UN Women, Population Council and Care International among others.
She is an Executive coach holds a Masters degree in demography from the University of Nairobi and her research interests are in the area of gender climate and conflict nexus.
Arjmand loves her profession as a development worker and community building. When she is not working. she enjoys traveling, gardening, playing table tennis and she is a safari rally fan.
